How Long Does a Tank of Gas Last on a Side by Side ATV

The average tank size for most side by side ATVs is 10 gallons. However, the fuel efficiency of an ATV can vary widely depending on the model, weight, speed, and terrain. A lightweight ATV that is ridden slowly on level ground will get much better gas mileage than a heavy duty model that is being driven aggressively off-road. That being said, most side by sides will get between 5 and 15 miles per gallon. This means that, on average, you can expect your tank to last anywhere from 50 to 150 miles.

Of course, these are just estimates. Your actual mileage may vary depending on how and where you ride your ATV. If you find that you are frequently running out of gas before reaching your destination, consider carrying an extra spare gallon or two in a gas can. This way, you’ll never have to worry about being stranded with an empty tank.
